Welcome to the official website of the 2001 Gandy family reunion that will be held in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Gandy family is full of rich history. We have traced our roots back six generations. Anderson Gandy was an enslaved African who had ran away in the late 1850’s. or 1860’s. He lived in a cave with his wife Hannah until freedom came for African Americans in the south. Anderson and Hannah resided in Butler County, Alabama in or around Bessemer or Gergiana. Together they had seven children: Richard, Alec, Abe, John, Felix, Clarie, and Hannah. The children remained in Alabama, living around Atmore, Georgiana, Mobile, and then began to migrate throughout the entire United States.
